Franky Bennett's musical journey began in the vibrant tapestry of his upbringing. Surrounded by diverse influences from an early age, with a jazz musician father and a gospel-singing mother, and an older sister steeped in the sounds of R&B and Disco, Franky was destined for a life in music. Growing up in a neighborhood pulsating with the rhythms of 70s rock, with the likes of Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, and AC/DC echoing through the streets, Franky's musical palette was rich and varied.
His journey truly began when his sister received a six-string acoustic guitar for her 13th birthday, a gift that would ultimately find its way into Franky's hands. Though initially discouraged by his inability to emulate the virtuosity of Jimi Hendrix, Franky's passion for music remained undimmed. It wasn't until high school, inspired by the likes of The Police, English Beat, and Thin Lizzy, that Franky found his true calling in the bass guitar. From that moment on, he never looked back.

Venturing across the Atlantic to Paris, France, Franky honed his craft as the bassist for "The 5 Easy Pieces," a multinational ensemble whose music transcended language barriers to captivate audiences across bars and college venues in the city of lights. Returning stateside in the late 90s, Franky founded "Chrome Mali," a band reminiscent of the raw energy and eclecticism of The Clash and The Smashing Pumpkins, garnering local success before parting ways.

Fate, it seemed, had other plans, as a chance encounter with his friend Casey reignited Franky's passion for creating music. Thus, Thunderbuck Ram was born, christened with a name already etched in local lore thanks to Casey's foresight and a resounding victory in a "Best of" poll in the revered 'zine, "The Current." For nearly a decade, Thunderbuck has electrified audiences with their dynamic performances, weathering lineup changes while Franky remains at its core, a testament to his enduring commitment to the craft he loves.
